EAST-WEST CLINICS

The centers offer a blending of Eastern and Western concepts and techniques in helping patients toward wellness. The environments provide a unique setting for self-healing, based on the philosophy that by providing the proper conditions, the body has the potential to heal itself. Some aspects of the environment include: acupuncture for balanced energy flow, proper nutrition, exercise, appropriate vitamin supplementation, meditation and other relaxation techniques. Based on this philosophy, the clinics offer individually designed programs dealing with pain control, chemical dependencies, weight control, and diseases that respond to acupuncture. We also specialize in the treatment of candidiasis, PMS and menopausal symptoms.

Long term self-help maintenance techniques such as acupressure, massage, meditation, exercise and nutrition are taught in order to provide the patient the ability to maintain wellness, which is the goal of the center.

DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF SYSTEMIC FUNGAL INFECTIONS (CANDIDIASIS)

The clinics are two primary centers I the region that specialize in the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up for people with candidiasis. The treatment is based on the research done by Colet Lahoz and published in her book "Conquering Yeast Infections: The Non-Drug Solution".

People from outside the Twin Cities area may arrange a telephone consult by calling 651-429-9595. Cost: US $70, payable by check.

ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is a healing method originating from Chinese Medicine which looks at disease and health as functions of energy balance or imbalance in the body. Therapy includes the use of needles inserted in specific energy points underneath the skin to balance the flow of energy. It is increasingly accepted in Western culture for the treatment of pain, addictions, weight control and organ dysfunctions. It allows the body to heal naturally and does not involve the use of drugs. It is widely used by people who have difficulties with the side effects of drug therapy and those who have an allergy to drugs.

Applications of Acupuncture (partial listing):

Pain, neuralgias, sciatica, arthritis, back pain, migraine headaches, anxiety, depression, allergies, sinusitis, asthma, gastrointestinal problems, PMS, skin problems, chemical dependencies, weight loss, tinnitus, hearing loss and eye diseases such as glaucoma and macular degeneration.

FITNESS AND NUTRITION COUNSELING

As your situation dictates, we will design a program of diet, vitamin supplementation and exercise to suit your needs. We will review any program you are already on and make adjustments if necessary.

ACUPRESSURE

Acupressure is the use of finger pressure over energy points. It is taught to patients as a self-help technique for health maintenance.

MEDITATION

Meditation is a mental relaxation technique, that when practiced regularly over a period of time offers a calming effect. At times a mental imagery technique is added to the meditation to help patients bring about needed physiological changes.

Meditation works because it allows the central nervous system to become more integrated. Breathing awareness, progressive muscle relaxation, the use of a mantra or mental image as well as the use of affirmations are some of the techniques that are designed specifically for each patient to fit their specific needs.

EXERCISE

Special exercises are taught to patients as a self-help approach for rehabilitation and maintenance of wellness. Patients with chronic back problems are taught exercises to strengthen their stomach, side and back muscles. It is also recommended for patients on the weight loss program and for those requiring long term rehabilitation for chronic problems.
